Scenes From A Past Life (song)

SCENES FROM A PAST LIFE By Jesse SCobie

Chords: G C Dmaj Em C G D C G
The sunshine smile can hide the weary eyes so well
But after awhile even the old man in black can tell
Long gone are tales of glory, forgotten are the wedding bells

The fire in her eyes hypnotizes me no more
And when I think about it they never really did before
But until the sun sets I'll never know for sure

A queen's face in a joker's clothes
A secret ace that nobody seems to know
But I know which way the raging river flows

I can't think, I can't sleep with this blinding light
Full of memories, full of senses from my past life

Beyond the confusion, blind men lead the way home
It's full of faceless angels who just continue to roam
Past destinations, confrontations still uknown

Mother know's best but daughter know's what's good for you
But even then she'll never show you, what her father knew
You can guess all you want but you always knew the truth

Simple is the one who cannot feel the pain
Happiness is sitting peacefully in the pouring rain
How can you lose when noone is playing the game

I still can't think, sleep is on and off through out the night
Full of feelings, full of questions from my present life

Look at me know, mystery man of illussion no more
It's like a haunted king who's forgotten the clothes he once wore
Always searching for an exit, not knowing there never was a door

He married the girl of his dreams long ago
And they were blessed with children as he watched his family grow
And said to his first born son, "Here's how the story unfolds"

A fairy-tale ending to a bloody masterpiece of a show!
And all I can think of, is where do all these memories of past lives go?
They're probably just like a long lost fire buried in the depths of the snow

Thinking's clear, my mind is gone, nothing's wrong and all is right
Full of meaning, full of peace in my final life
