Longing Fantasy

Longing Fantasy (The Love you Seek) By Jesse Scobie

You say you want someone who cares but doesn’t push you over
You tell me of a man who’s true self is sincerely understanding
A man who’s freedom is to love you but and can also be reprimanding
You say you want someone to dare you to try and be sober
But you know the love you seek you will not find in this time
You know the love you seek you will not find in this time

I watch you sit beneath the orange trees, wishing you could fly
Into the depths of loving laughter that heals all your wounds
The image of a man that’s after saving you from your own doom
I watch you walk on your knees, wishing you could try
But you know the love you seek you cannot find in this time
Yes you know the love you seek you cannot find in this time

The streets are full of sands from the misty beaches of the past
While the oil drips from their faces into the forgotten lake
And the man sips from his cup which you can tell is fake
The streets lead to a land far from things that seem to last
For you know the love you seek you won’t find in this time
You should know the love you seek you won’t find in this time

Fortitude rests easily on the balance beam of our morality
The answer to your question lies on the other side
But you can tell the deception in the soul of his lies
Solitude is the best way it seems to avoid your immortality
Because you know the love you seek you’ll never find in this time
The love that’s seeking you, you don’t see cause your blind
Yes the love that your seeking doesn’t exist in this time
