May You (poem) By Jesse Scobie
When the moon has risen over these distant lands,
and all who walk on them of are full of disbelief,
may your light be the spark in these dunes of sands,
may your voice be the guidance for those overwhelmed with grief,
when the trees have grown old and tired and rot from the earth,
and all the apples, oranges, and cherries morph into inner demons,
may your wisdom be the teacher in these times of great rebirth,
may your eyes be the vision to see all of life's seasons,
when the oceans of the world disappear beneath the rocky cliffs,
And all who sail on them are lost in the tormented storms,
May your silk like legs guide them to safety and not adrift,
May your compassionate spirit keep them from destructive scorn,
when the last love of the earth is burned down to the ground,
and all of the lovers leave at midnight from the gates of Eden
May your raspberry lips give them fiery passion to be found,
May your hands give them sensual intimacy to heal the bleeding,
When the clouds of doubt and sorrow form in the sky and all who are under them are trapped,
May your eccentric hair save them from the lies, may your subconscious enlighten them from their ego naps,
When the towers of rain fields fall on the lost souls, and all who envision the destinies of life are forgotten,
May your spiritual soldiers help them reach their goals, may your children of love reseed the plants that have rotten,
And in the end of feelings of long sought redemption and fulfillment may it be that your karma blesses you in the afterlife of our own time
