Mister Purple Kangaroo By Jesse Scobie
Mister purple kangaroo, what else must I do for you
I’m tired of playing your mind games
Mister purple kangaroo, I’m getting really sick of you
I want you out of my head and out of my life
(clarinet solo)
He says walk to the end of cannery road
You’ll find a brown hut with a horny old toad
He’ll tell you where to find mistress madam Caroline
She’ll be tanning in the sun looking so fine
She says” Go down the alley and find mister Grover”
He lies underneath four thousand four leaf clovers
He’ll tell where you can find Mr. Egg-man
But Mr. Grover says he died in a frying pan
So instead he tells you where to find the mayflower queen
She lives in a castle made out of green beans
But the Queen wasn’t there, nowhere to be seen
and you don’t know what to do
(honky-tonk piano solo)
Mister Purple Kangaroo, everyone wants a piece of you
There’s nowhere else left for you to hide
Mister Purple Kangaroo, nothing you ever say is true
Now you have to pay the price for what you’ve done
He says he doesn’t need to hear the other side
As long as he just buries his enemies alive
He and the foxes make up their own rules
They expect the public all to act like fools
But they don’t know there’s a new revolution
With people who want a peaceful solution
(clarinet solo)
With people who want to save the world
Make a bright future completely unfurled
Mister Purple Kangaroo, its over, that’s it no more of you
Your finished and that statement’s true
